Job summary

Glass Atlas is expanding its Commerce Technology Engineering team in Manchester. We are seeking a Magento Backend Developer to own BAU development, maintenance, bug fixes and improvements across Magento/Adobe Commerce projects.

You will work hands-on, investigate issues, and deliver robust software solutions with support from a collaborative agency environment. You’ll join a performance-driven team that values autonomy, clear communication, and best-practice coding.

Qualifications

• Commercial experience developing with Magento 2 / Adobe Commerce.
• Strong PHP development experience.
• Good understanding of Magento's architecture and development patterns.
• Experience developing custom modules and integrations.
• Comfortable investigating and debugging existing Magento codebases.
• Good SQL/MySQL knowledge and an understanding of performance considerations.
• Experience working with Git and modern development workflows.
• Able to communicate clearly with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Experience troubleshooting production issues.
• Experience working within an agency or multi-client environment.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain Magento 2 / Adobe Commerce functionality across client projects.
• Investigate and resolve bugs and production issues.
• Build and maintain custom modules and integrations.
• Make improvements to existing codebases with maintainability in mind.
• Support Magento upgrades, releases and ongoing platform maintenance.
• Take ownership of BAU development tasks and see them through to completion.
• Explain technical approaches and decisions clearly to stakeholders.
• Collaborate with QA, PMs and other teams to deliver effective solutions.
• Contribute to code reviews and maintain development standards.
