Job summary

University Hospitals Dorset is seeking a Macular Service Coordinator to support and coordinate the delivery of the UHD Macular Service. You will work within a multidisciplinary team to ensure timely, high-quality care and effective pathway management for patients through their macular journey.

Role involves liaising with consultants and staff, following NICE guidelines, and ensuring clinics run smoothly. Flexibility to work across UHD locations is expected.

Qualifications

• Educated to diploma level or equivalent qualification or equivalent experience/ knowledge.
• Experience of co-ordinating a macular service.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Experience of NHS working.
• Experience of producing reports and minutes of meetings.
• Language requirement: able to speak English to undertake the role.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and support the Macular Service within a multidisciplinary team.
• Ensure smooth running of the sub-speciality, working closely with the consultant and macula team.
• Adhere to NICE guidelines in patient pathways management and delivery.
• Liaise with patients, staff and visitors to maintain high standard of care and commitment.
• Manage urgent requirements for same-day appointments/assessments and track follow-up within clinically led timelines.
• Analyse clinic capacity and rebook cancelled slots to avoid breaches.
