CIRCOR International, Hale Hamilton (Uxbridge), is seeking a skilled Machinist to set up and operate CNC horizontal machining centres to produce high-precision components for industrial applications. The role requires reading drawings, GD&T, and selecting tooling to maintain tight tolerances.

You will load programs, verify readiness, perform inspections with precision equipment, and contribute to continuous improvement while working a 4-day week.

Qualifications

• Completed engineering apprenticeship or equivalent technical qualification.
• Significant experience operating and setting CNC machining centres, ideally multi-axis.
• Excellent mechanical aptitude and practical problem-solving skills.
• Proficiency in precision measurement and inspection techniques.
• Experience making programme edits; CNC programming knowledge is advantageous.
• Ability to work independently while contributing as part of a team.
• Strong organisational and time-management skills with attention to quality.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate CNC horizontal machining centres, including pallet-changing and multi-axis machines, to produce high-quality precision components
• Load CNC programmes, set tool offsets and datums, and verify machine readiness prior to production
• Read and interpret engineering drawings, technical specifications, GD&T requirements, and process documentation
• Select, install and maintain cutting tools, fixtures and workholding devices to ensure efficient machining operations
• Manufacture components to tight tolerances using a variety of materials
• Perform in-process and final inspections using a range of precision measuring equipment.
• Make programme edits, tooling adjustments and offset corrections as required
• Monitor machine performance, identify issues and implement corrective actions to minimise downtime and maintain quality standards
• Carry out routine machine maintenance and maintain a clean, safe and organised work environment in line with 5S principles
• Adhere to all health, safety, quality and company procedures

For our location in Uxbridge, in the Greater London area, we are looking for a Machinist.

• Ability to work independently while contributing effectively as part of a team in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
• Strong organisational and time-management skills with high attention to detail and a strong commitment to quality, safety and continuous improvement
• 4 day working week with Fridays off (37,5 hours per week)
