Job summary

Career Choices Dewis Gyrfa Ltd in Port Talbot is seeking a hands-on Machining Cell Leader to oversee day-to-day operations in a busy precision environment. You will work with Production, Planning and Purchasing teams to meet targets and can run the department in the manager’s absence.

Responsibilities include creating and optimising CNC programs for DMG Mori machines, setting up lathes/mills/drills, and performing in-process inspections with high accuracy.

Qualifications

• Experience operating CNC machines in a production environment.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
• Skilled with precision measuring tools (micrometers, calipers, gauges).
• Proficiency with DMG Mori programming platforms (Celos, VPS).
• Experience with CAD/CAM software (Siemens NX, Mastercam) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Load raw materials and verify tooling setup.
• Interpret drawings and ensure dimensional accuracy.

• Thu - 08:00 - 16:45 and a lovely 2pm finish on a Friday.

Your main responsibility will be to oversee the day-to-day operations of a busy machining department within a precision environment.

You will work closely with Production, Planning and Purchasing teams, to ensure production targets are achieved You will be a ble to run department competently in the managers absence.

What's needed: experience operating CNC machines in a production environment ability to read and interpret engineering drawings. skilled in using precision measuring tools (micrometers, calipers, gauges) strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills proficiency in DMG Mori programming platforms (Celos, VPS).
