Job summary

Northwood Hygiene Products in the United Kingdom is seeking a Machine Setter/Operator to run our high-speed converting machinery, perform adjustments, changeovers, and ensure products meet quality specs.

You will work a 4 on 4 off 12-hour shift pattern (days 06:00–18:00 and nights 18:00–06:00), carry out pre-use safety checks, and support maintenance and documentation to a high standard.

Qualifications

• Experience setting machinery and changeovers, and performing basic maintenance.
• Experience in Converting, Packaging, Foods, or similar FMCG environment is beneficial.
• Ability to fault-find and support Shift Engineers to reduce downtime.
• Carry out pre-use lifting and equipment guarding checks to ensure Zero Harm.

Responsibilities

Get hands-on with advanced production machinery as a Machine Setter/Operator with Northwood Hygiene Products!

You will work with advanced machinery, adopting high standards and following critical processes to deliver excellent quality to the customer, ensuring safety comes first at all times!

In this full time Machine Setter/Operator role, you will ensure the smooth operation of our paper converting machines, performing checks and ensuring quality meets specifications.

You will work a 4 on 4 off, 12-hour shift pattern of both days (06:00-18:00) and nights (18:00-06:00).

A key part of your role is performing adjustments to machinery (manually or electronically with HMI) to keep the product within specification, referring to job cards and centrelines, and ensuring completion of documentation to a high standard.

Before you use our machinery, you'll need to carry out pre-use lifting and equipment guarding checks to ensure Zero Harm!

Once safe to do so, you will operate our high speed converting machinery and conduct regular quality checks, changeovers, basic maintenance, and rectify defects/minor issues as best you can, or escalating to a Shift Engineer or Cell Leader/Shift Manager if additional support is required.

What we need from you:

• Technical and mechanical flair
• Experience setting machinery and/or changeovers, performing basic maintenance when required
• Fault finding, supporting our Shift Engineers and reducing downtime.
• Experience in Converting, Packaging, Foods, or a similar FMCG environment (beneficial)
• Familiarity with winding/rewinding machinery (beneficial)
• Critical thinking with an inquisitive mindset (i.e. confidence to challenge) will go a long way.
