Job summary

Alexander Steele is supporting a Global manufacturing business seeking a Machine Operator in Snodland, Kent. The role involves operating and monitoring production machinery to meet quality, production, and waste targets. Salary is £25,000 with a 4 on, 4 off shift pattern from 6am to 6pm.

Location: Snodland, Kent. This is a permanent position. The candidate will perform start-up checks, material handling, and routine cleaning, while ensuring high standards of hygiene and safety.

Qualifications

• Experience operating machinery within a manufacturing or production environment.
• Good understanding of health & safety, quality, and hygiene standards.
• Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team and under pressure.
• Basic IT and record-keeping skills.
• Food manufacturing experience and basic food hygiene knowledge are advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate production machinery in line with production plans and specifications.
• Carry out pre-start checks, line set-up, and routine cleaning activities.
• Prepare and replenish raw materials, packaging, and consumables as required.
• Monitor machine performance and resolve minor stoppages to minimise downtime.
• Perform quality checks and ensure products meet required standards.
• Complete production records and documentation accurately.
• Maintain high standards of hygiene, housekeeping, and health & safety.
• Support the achievement of production, OEE, and waste reduction targets.
• Work collaboratively with colleagues to ensure efficient production operations.
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and support training activities where required.
