Job summary

Greencore Northampton is seeking a full-time operative to start up and oversee daily machinery, perform quality and labeling checks, and support a close-knit production team.

The role is permanent with Friday–Tuesday and Wednesday–Sunday shifts from 05:00 to 13:30, paying £14.84 per hour. A competitive benefits package includes holidays, pension, life insurance, share save, and wellbeing support.

Qualifications

• Good numeracy and English language skills (verbal and written).
• Safe working practices and H&S awareness.
• FMCG/Warehouse experience advantageous; training provided.

Responsibilities

• Daily machinery start-up and continuous oversight.
• Reporting machinery faults as necessary.
• Ensuring correct label usage to maintain high standards.
• Regular completion of compliance checks, including date and code verification.
• Adherence to compliance controls, risk assessments, and SSOW.
• Ensuring a safe working environment for colleagues and oneself.
• Performing relevant quality checks and promptly addressing quality or food safety issues.
• Collaboration within a close-knit production team.
