Job summary

Watson-Marlow Fluid Technology Solutions, part of Spirax Group, is seeking a skilled Machine Operator to join the UK manufacturing team. You will support machining of components and assist setters to produce varied sizes and specs for critical industries.

In this role you will drive 5S, continuous improvement, and mentor apprentices and operators to grow machining skills within a collaborative environment.

Qualifications

• Experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Engineering qualification and/or CNC turning experience.
• Detail-oriented with a focus on process improvement.
• Ability to work with others to achieve team goals.
• Mentor and train apprentices and operators to improve machining skills.

Responsibilities

• Support the production of machined components from various materials in support of WMFTS pumps and tubing direct sales to customers globally.
• Provide support for various production activities including end-of-line processes.
• Embrace Continuous Improvement initiatives throughout the machining value stream, working with Team Leaders on new ideas.
• Drive 5S activities across the machining value stream to ensure workspace is efficient and safe.
• Support process improvement investigations including Root Cause analysis and Corrective Actions.

Job Summary: We are seeking a talented and motivated Machine Operator to join our dynamicteam.

Key Responsibilities

Role Summary

Working closely as part of the machine shop manufacturing team to produce high quality machined products supporting the assembly and tubing function. Working alongside the setters to enable the production of various sizes, lengths and specifications of machined product supporting critical industries including biopharma, medical, water, food, and special processing industries.

What you’ll be doing

• Supporting the production of machined components from various materials in support of the WMFTS pumps and tubing direct sales to customers globally.
• You’ll provide support for various production activities including the end of line processes.
• You will embrace Continuous Improvement initiatives throughout the machining value stream, working closely with Team Leaders to development and implement new ideas.
• You will support and drive 5S activities across the machining value stream, ensuring the workspace is efficient and safe.
• You will support process improvement investigations including Root Cause analysis and Corrective Actions.

Skills/Experience

This is what you’ll need to be successful in this role:

• Experience working in a manufacturing environment based within a machine shop.
• Relevant engineering qualification and/or suitable demonstrated experience CNC turning.
• A keen eye for detail and a willingness to utilise all available resources to drive process improvement.
• The ability to work with others to achieve the team goals
• Willingness to Mentor and train apprentices and operators to improve their skill set and understanding of machining.
