Job summary

Gap Personnel is recruiting for a Machine Operator in Yeovil to join a supplier of aerospace and defence components. You will operate specialist equipment and contribute to the production of precise wax patterns used in investment casting.

Training is provided, with long-term career opportunities. Monday–Thursday 7:45am–4:45pm and Friday 7:45am–12:45pm, plus an early finish on Fridays as a benefit.

Qualifications

• Previous manufacturing or machine-operating experience is beneficial, but full training is provided.
• Attention to detail and quality are essential.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate wax injection and moulding machines.
• Produce accurate wax patterns to specifications.
• Inspect finished patterns for defects and deformation.
• Assemble and handle delicate wax components with care.
• Monitor wax temperatures and machine settings.
• Complete basic quality and production documentation.
• Maintain a clean, safe work environment and follow procedures.

We are recruiting for a Machine Operator to join an established manufacturer producing high-quality components for the aerospace and defence industries.

This is a hands‑on production role within the investment casting process. You will operate specialist equipment to create precise patterns that will eventually be transformed into finished metal components.

Key responsibilities

• Setting up and operating wax injection and moulding machines
• Producing accurate wax patterns to the required specifications
• Inspecting finished patterns for defects, bubbles and deformation
• Carefully assembling and handling delicate wax components
• Monitoring wax temperatures and machine settings
• Completing basic quality and production documentation
• Maintaining a clean, organised and safe working environment
• Following strict quality, safety and manufacturing procedures

About you

Previous manufacturing, machine-operating or quality-inspection experience would be beneficial, although full training can be provided. Most importantly, you will need:
