Interaction Recruitment is seeking a Maintenance Engineer for a full-time, permanent position in Towcester, near Northampton. The role involves diagnosing faults, performing electrical and mechanical repairs, and conducting preventative maintenance to minimise downtime.

The ideal candidate has 3+ years in maintenance engineering, recognised qualifications (NVQ/City & Guilds), and a multi-skilled bias with strong fault-finding abilities; teamwork and independent work are both important.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years' experience in a maintenance engineering role (manufacturing, food production, cold storage, or similar).
• Recognised engineering qualifications (NVQ, City & Guilds or equivalent).
• Multi-skilled with either an electrical or mechanical bias.
• Strong fault-finding and problem-solving ability.
• Able to work independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose faults and carry out electrical & mechanical repairs on production equipment.
• Perform planned preventative maintenance (PPM) to reduce downtime.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives across the site.
• Ensure strict adherence to health & safety procedures.
• Work closely with the Engineering Manager and wider team to maintain smooth plant operations.

Maintenance Engineer

Salary: £41,000 - £45,000 (OTE £48,000 - £50,000)

Location: Towcester, Northampton

Hours: Monday - Friday, 07:30 - 17:30 + overtime paid at 1.5x
