Serco in Oldbury is seeking a hands-on Machine Driver & Operative to keep waste and recycling operations running safely and efficiently. You will operate plant equipment and support site activities to deliver a clean, well‑run transfer station.
Role involves unloading, sorting and managing materials to maximise recycling, maintaining records, and upholding health and safety standards. Training and progression are supported as part of our inclusive team.
Location: Transfer Station, Oldbury, B69 2BP
Salary: £28,298.27 plus excellent benefits
Schedule: Permanent, Full-time, 37 hours per week, Monday to Thursday 7am to 3pm, Friday 7am to 2.30pm (additional paid hours are available when business needs arise).

This is a hands‑on role where your work has purpose. You’ll support the safe movement, sorting and management of materials, helping maximise recycling and maintain a clean, well‑run site. By working closely with colleagues, customers and members of the public, you’ll help create impactful solutions that support a cleaner environment and impact a better future.
As well as checking eligibility to work in the UK, you will also complete an Occupational Health Questionnaire to help us identify and provide any support you may need to undertake the role effectively.
