Job summary

BeyondTrust is seeking a Software Development Engineer to advance our macOS endpoint security solution. You will join a multidisciplinary team, directing agentic AI development tools and applying engineering judgement to steer and review outputs for quality and security, delivering a fast, robust macOS client used by thousands of organisations.

You will design architecture, review requirements, enforce testing, build automation, reduce technical debt, and collaborate across teams to ensure

Qualifications

Degree in software engineering or equivalent practical experience.
Hands-on macOS development with Swift/Obj-C/C++.
Experience building systems-level or endpoint security software on macOS.
Hands-on macOS experience managing launch daemons/launch agents and XPC components.
Experience directing AI development tools (e.g., Claude Code) and reviewing generated code for security and correctness.
Familiarity with formal software development methodologies (SDLC).
2+ years of commercial software engineering for SDE level; 5+ years for Senior SDE with leadership.

Responsibilities

Design, build and maintain the macOS client at the heart of our endpoint security solution.
Shape architecture of new features and provide technical direction on complex projects.
Review requirements to identify gaps and communicate ideas across teams.
Lead code quality through reviews and tests, and establish guidelines where none exist.
Develop and improve build, deployment and test automation.
Identify and resolve technical debt within the team.
Collaborate to ensure clear work items and delivery of value each sprint.
Investigate customer issues and feed learnings back to product.
Track macOS security tech trends and propose tool/process improvements.
Become the go-to expert for at least one product area.
