Job summary

Darktrace in Cambridge is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to lead and contribute across a broad range of initiatives, developing and enhancing the macOS codebase using modern C++ and Swift. This hybrid role requires two days per week in the Cambridge office.

You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, participate in code reviews, and mentor colleagues while advancing our cyber-defense methodologies and high-quality testing.

Qualifications

• Strong experience with modern C++ in a macOS/Linux environment.
• Proficiency or willingness to deepen Swift expertise.
• Experience with Unix/macOS development environments.
• Ability to work autonomously while collaborating with a team.
• Interest in cyber-security and malware forensics is a plus.
• Experience with statistical analysis of systems.
• Familiar with Docker and cloud computing environments.

Responsibilities

• Build, design, and maintain the macOS codebase using C++ and Swift.
• Lead and contribute to projects from rapid prototyping to mature platforms.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver robust solutions.
• Participate in code reviews to ensure engineering excellence and knowledge sharing.
• Write and maintain tests, documentation, and developer enablement materials.
• Drive the advancement of our methodology for defending against unknown cyber-attacks.
• Develop and mentor team members across multiple programming languages.
