Job summary

Equans in Colchester is seeking an M&E Technician with a water systems bias to join our facilities team. This full-time role includes participation in a 24-hour on-call rota and occasional weekend duties.

You will maintain mechanical, electrical and water systems across the site, carry out plant room checks, plumbing tasks and water treatment activities, and respond to breakdowns while adhering to safety and compliance.

Qualifications

• Experienced in mechanical and electrical maintenance with strong water systems knowledge.
• Skilled in plumbing, TMV maintenance, tank inspections, flushing and water temperature monitoring.
• Able to maintain pumps, water softeners, pressurisation units, air separators, heat pumps and expansion vessels.
• Familiar with BMS systems, HVAC equipment, sprinkler checks and plant room inspections.
• Willing to undertake training to qualify as an Authorised Person or Competent Person.
• Able to work independently or as part of a team and respond to breakdowns safely.

Responsibilities

• Maintain mechanical, electrical and water systems across the site.
• Complete plant room checks, plumbing tasks, water treatment activities and equipment maintenance.
• Maintain pumps, pressure systems, HVAC equipment, TMVs, tanks, sprinklers and BMS systems.
• Respond to breakdowns, support new works and follow all safety and compliance requirements.
