Job summary

PRS LTD is recruiting an M&E Shift Engineer in Surrey to join a leading facilities management team. The role covers electrical, mechanical, or air conditioning backgrounds, with a continental shift pattern and 12-hour shifts.

Salary starts at £50,000 and rises to £56,000 on successful probation, with overtime opportunities and long-term stability. You'll work on maintenance, fault-finding, and supporting BMS and HVAC systems, in a busy critical environment.

Qualifications

• Trade qualified with ideally 3+ years’ experience in building services.
• City & Guilds Level 3 in Electrical (or equivalent).
• Strong understanding of building services systems (AHU, FCU, UPS, generators, LV systems).
• Proven fault-finding ability across mechanical and/or electrical systems.
• Excellent communication skills with strong client-facing experience.

Responsibilities

• Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance tasks
• Respond to emergency callouts and fault situations
• Complete logbooks, RAMS, and relevant documentation
• Attend client meetings and provide technical support
• Conduct emergency lighting testing
• Perform electrical works including lighting, wiring, testing, alarm systems, and BMS
• Maintain and operate Building Management Systems (BMS)
• Work on air conditioning systems including DX, chilled water, and adiabatic AHUs
• Maintain generators, controls, and UPS systems
• Work on AC/DC systems including single and three-phase motors
• Support HV/LV systems maintenance
• Carry out basic building fabric tasks (e.g., toilets, drainage, tiling, sinks)
