Job summary

Avolon M&E is recruiting a dedicated M&E Quality Assurance Engineer for rail and infrastructure projects across West London locations. You will be on-site, ensuring M&E installations meet project specs and quality standards, while coordinating with engineers and subcontractors to drive handover readiness.

Ideal candidates have M&E/building services QA/QC experience, familiarity with ITPs, inspections and NCRs, and a strong eye for documentation. Rail project exposure is highly beneficial.

• Rail industry experience is desirable but not required.

We are recruiting M&E Quality Assurance Engineers for an established M&E contractor delivering major packages across HS2 in West London.

Due to continued growth and an extensive pipeline of work, there are a number of permanent QA requirements across Hanger Lane, West Ruislip, North Acton and Northolt.

The successful candidates will work closely with engineering and construction teams to ensure M&E installations meet the required project specifications, quality standards and handover requirements.

The Role

Responsibilities will include:

• Managing M&E quality assurance processes on site
• Reviewing and maintaining ITPs and quality documentation
• Carrying out inspections of mechanical and electrical installations
• Identifying, recording and managing defects and NCRs
• Ensuring installations comply with drawings, specifications and project standards
• Maintaining inspection and test records
• Coordinating with Construction Managers, Engineers and subcontractors
• Supporting snagging, completion and handover
• Assisting with testing and commissioning documentation
• Ensuring quality records are complete and ready for client acceptance

About You

Ideally you will have:

• M&E/building services experience
• Previous QA/QC, Engineering or Construction experience
• Experience with ITPs, inspections, NCRs and handover documentation
• Good understanding of mechanical and/or electrical installations
• Strong attention to detail and documentation

Previous rail experience is highly desirable, particularly experience gained on projects such as HS2, Crossrail, London Underground/TfL, stations, depots or other major rail schemes.

This does not need to be Network Rail experience and trackside qualifications are not required.

The key requirement is an understanding of the quality, assurance, documentation and delivery processes associated with major rail projects.
