Job summary

Belfast City Council is seeking a candidate for a permanent, full-time post to lead mechanical services refurbishment projects across council assets. The post holder will report to the Assistant Programme Manager (M&E Projects) and will coordinate design, delivery, and monitoring of projects within statutory requirements.

The role involves providing full mechanical design services, producing design packages for procurement, and managing projects in line with the RIBA stage plan.

Qualifications

• Experience delivering mechanical design and refurbishment projects for public sector assets.
• Strong project management skills across multiple projects with tight deadlines.
• Knowledge of legislation and statutory requirements related to mechanical services.
• Experience preparing design packages for procurement.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the implementation, delivery, and monitoring of mechanical services refurbishment projects.
• Coordinate, design, implement, and deliver multiple assigned projects within deadlines.
• Provide full mechanical design service and prepare design packages for procurement.
• Manage M&E projects in line with RIBA stage plan and project management methodology.
• Ensure effective financial management and high quality, responsive customer-focused services for mechanical projects.
• Coordinate M&E projects with wider unit programmes and organisation.
• Provide specialist professional and technical advice on property-related matters and review new mechanical design developments.
