Job summary

Maitland Kabir is seeking an experienced M&A Tax Director to lead the tax advisory practice and drive technical leadership for a growing client base in the UK. You will shape strategic tax solutions for owner-managed and corporate clients while mentoring the tax team.

The role offers significant client exposure, leadership responsibilities, and business development opportunities, with a salary up to £130,000 and excellent benefits.

Qualifications

• Significant post-qualification experience within a professional services, accountancy or tax advisory environment.
• Strong technical expertise in UK taxation.
• CTA qualification desirable; ACA or ACCA qualification would also be advantageous.
• Demonstrable experience delivering complex tax advisory solutions and providing commercially grounded recommendations.
• Experience advising owner-managed businesses, privately owned groups and/or larger corporate clients.
• A proven ability to manage senior client relationships and act as a trusted adviser to business owners and senior stakeholders.
• Credible business development experience, including identifying opportunities, developing propositions and converting new work.
• Strong commercial awareness, with the ability to understand clients' business objectives and translate these into effective tax solutions.

Responsibilities

• Lead the delivery of high-quality tax advisory services, providing practical and commercially focused solutions to complex client requirements.
• Advise on a broad range of strategic tax matters, including business structuring, reorganisations, acquisitions and disposals, succession planning, exit strategies and shareholder matters.
• Provide technical leadership and oversight across advisory engagements, ensuring advice is accurate, commercially appropriate and delivered to a consistently high standard.
• Maintain up-to-date technical knowledge and ensure compliance with relevant professional standards, risk management procedures and regulatory requirements.
• Build and maintain trusted, long-term relationships with business owners, shareholders, senior management and other key stakeholders.
• Identify, develop and convert new Tax Advisory opportunities across existing clients and the wider market.
