Job summary

CDM Recruitment Ltd is seeking an Electrical Engineer for an established engineering manufacturer in the UK. You will design LV switchgear, control panels, MCCs or distribution boards and produce detailed electrical designs and schematics, coordinating with estimating, production, and site teams.

You will work from client specifications, prepare design docs, support FAT/SAT, and manage multiple projects from design through to delivery, ensuring on-time installation and commissioning.

Qualifications

• Experience designing LV switchgear, control panels, MCCs or distribution boards.
• Strong knowledge of electrical schematics and wiring diagrams.
• Familiarity with BS7671, BS EN 61439 and IEC standards.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
• Good communication and practical engineering approach.

Responsibilities

• Produce electrical designs, schematics and panel layouts for LV switchgear.
• Prepare functional design specifications for LV protection devices.
• Work from client specifications and project requirements.
• Support estimating with technical input.
• Liaise with clients, contractors, suppliers and internal teams.
• Support FAT and SAT testing.
• Produce technical submissions and O&M manuals.
• Manage multiple projects from design through delivery.
• Provide technical support to sales, production and site teams.
