Job summary

JD Recruitment Solutions seeks an experienced LV Commissioning & Switchgear Engineer to join a leading power solutions specialist. You will work on LV switchgear, distribution systems, and pre-energisation testing across the UK and Europe, ensuring safe, compliant handovers to clients.

This role covers installation, maintenance, fault-finding, and full system commissioning, with responsibilities including outages, RAMS, and close collaboration with project managers and client representatives.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 3 / City & Guilds in Electrical Engineering and BS 7671 knowledge.
• Valid ECS or CSCS card and full UK driving licence.
• Experience with LV switchgear, commissioning and fault-finding in critical power environments.

Responsibilities

• Testing & commissioning: pre-energisation testing and final bring-into-service for LV switchgear and distribution systems.
• Installation & upgrades: install, modify, and retrofit LV switchgear, panel boards, MCCs, and control wiring.
• Maintenance & troubleshooting: planned preventative maintenance and rapid fault-finding on complex LV systems and protection devices.
• Outage & shutdown works: manage safe isolations and energisations during planned outages.
• Site delivery & compliance: interpret schematics, produce commissioning reports, and enforce RAMS and permit-to-work protocols.
