Job summary

UK Power Networks in Ipswich is seeking a Control Systems Engineer to develop, configure and deliver ADMS and OT applications. You will support daily operation, upgrades and project delivery across the ADMS ecosystem, working with LV Management, OT and GIS teams.

Blended working is available after a 6‑month probation (3 days in the office, 2 days remote) alongside a salary of £84,160 and a 3% bonus. The role emphasizes risk-aware engineering and collaboration across external partners.

Qualifications

• Degree in Electrical Engineering, Control Systems Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology or equivalent industry experience.
• Proven experience in GIS systems and GIS–ADMS integration within a utilities or distribution network environment.
• Proven experience helping, configuring and delivering ADMS, DMS, SCADA or other OT applications within a utility or critical infrastructure environment.
• Good comprehension of electrical power systems, distribution networks and network operations.
• Experience with API integration and enterprise systems.

Responsibilities

• Help, configure and maintain ADMS and associated operational applications in development, test, disaster recovery and production environments.
• Deliver enhancements, upgrades, fixes and new functionality in line with business requirements.
• Investigate, diagnose and resolve application, database and system issues affecting operational services.
• Participate in application testing and operational readiness activities.
• Help major projects involving new control system capabilities and technology deployments.
• Design, configure and deliver GIS–ADMS integration.
