Job summary

Leep Utilities is seeking a Control Engineer for a remote UK role, ideally near Manchester. You will ensure safe operation of HV/LV networks, manage control activities, and lead a small team in a 1‑in‑3 duty rota within a 24/7 operation.

You will oversee compliance with Safety Rules, ACOPs and Ofgem standards, coordinate restoration, and develop procedures to maintain safe systems of work across Leep's networks.

Qualifications

• Experience managing LV network operations and supply restoration.
• Ability to work under Control within a network operations environment.
• Familiar with LOAs, Permits, TOCs, IOEs and SFTs.
• Hold LV and 11kV authorisations, SAP (11kV) preferred.
• Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
• Good communication with stakeholders at all levels.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain relationships with developers, ICPs and partners.
• Onboard and assess ICPs, Developers, and Streetlighting Partners for LV self‑authorisation status.
• Audit and manage compliance of designated MERs, including site audits.
• Develop and maintain ACOPs, GSoPs and other SSoW documentation.
• Ensure ToC activities comply with Codes of Practice and Ofgem obligations.
• Coordinate supply restoration activities and incident management to Ofgem standards.
• Utilise VizNet and other tools for real‑time decision making and restoration.
• Deliver Control training to Duty Control Engineers and teams.
• Maintain auditable control records and handovers.
• Participate in 24/7/365 Control rota on a 1-in-3 basis.
