Job summary

Brook Street is seeking a skilled Maintenance & Handyman Technician for a luxury hospitality venue in the North of Scotland. The role offers a four-day week and a varied, hands-on maintenance portfolio across guest accommodation and estate properties.

You will perform general maintenance, basic plumbing, joinery, electrical tasks, and inspections to ensure the highest standards are upheld. A proactive, independent tradesperson with a keen eye for detail will thrive in this environment.

Qualifications

• Background in a recognised trade such as joinery, plumbing, electrical, building maintenance, or similar.

Responsibilities

• Carry out general maintenance and repair works across hotel, accommodation, and estate properties.
• Perform minor plumbing, joinery, painting, decorating, and basic electrical maintenance tasks.
• Conduct routine inspections to identify maintenance issues before they become significant problems.
• Maintain guest rooms, public areas, staff facilities, and external grounds to a luxury standard.
• Respond promptly to maintenance requests from management and operational teams.
• Coordinate and oversee external contractors when specialist repairs are required.
• Ensure all maintenance activities comply with health and safety regulations.
• Support planned preventative maintenance programmes.
• Assist with seasonal property upkeep and improvement projects.
• Maintain accurate maintenance records and stock levels of tools and materials.
• Participate in an on-call rota and respond to urgent maintenance issues when required.
