Job summary

Gilpin Hotel & Lake House in the Lake District is seeking a full-time Building Maintenance Technician to take ownership of day-to-day maintenance across the hotel, spa, restaurants, and Lake House. You will perform repairs, support planned maintenance, and ensure safety, compliance, and presentation standards, working with the Estates team and suppliers to maintain a luxurious guest environment.

Qualifications

• Experience in maintenance, building services, or a multi-skilled technician role.
• Strong practical abilities across plumbing, electrics, joinery, or general repairs.
• Organised and proactive approach when unexpected issues arise.
• Willingness to support a 7-day hospitality operation with varied tasks.
• Positive attitude and commitment to high standards.

Responsibilities

• Carry out day-to-day building maintenance and repairs.
• Support planned preventative maintenance.
