Job summary

The Coniston Hotel Ltd invites applications for a Maintenance operative to care for The Coniston Hotel, Country Estate & Spa. You will carry out daily maintenance tasks, plumbing, painting and decorating, and support energy conservation across the hotel and Nàdarra Spa.

With full UK manual driving licence and a proactive, guest‑focused approach, you will work across grounds and buildings, liaising with departments to ensure high standards and safety compliance.

Qualifications

• Full UK Manual Driving Licence.
• Proven experience in gardening and general maintenance.
• Basic skills in electrical, plumbing, painting and decorating.
• Positive “can do, will do” attitude.
• Excellent attention to detail.
• Strong verbal communication skills.
• Ability to liaise effectively across departments.
• Flexible and adaptable approach to work.
• Ability to work well under pressure.
• Passion for delivering excellent guest service.

Responsibilities

• Carry out daily maintenance tasks and repairs across the hotel and spa.
• Complete a range of general plumbing duties across the hotel and spa.
• Maintain grounds and gardens to high standards including mowing and strimming.
• Follow COSHH regulations and ensure safe storage of substances.
• Attend training and contribute to continuous improvement across the estate.
• Respond promptly to maintenance enquiries and guest concerns.
• Carry out quality inspections and energy conservation checks.
