Job summary

Hamberley Care Homes is seeking a Kitchen Assistant at our Bedford area care home to support chefs in planning and preparing meals that meet residents' nutritional needs and dietary requirements. You will ensure food hygiene standards, help manage stock, and assist with serving meals in a caring, fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Proven experience working in a similar catering role, ideally in a care or similar environment.
• Committed to customer care and first-class service provision
• Knowledge of Health and Safety COSHH regulations
• Empathy and a desire to make a difference to the lives of our residents
• Ability to multi-task, work under pressure and on own initiative in a fast-paced environment
• “Can-Do” flexible team worker, problem fixer, passion for what you do

Responsibilities

• Supporting the Chefs in the planning and provision of high-quality meals that meet the nutritional and dietary requirements of our residents
• Plan, prepare, and serve balanced meals that meet dietary requirements
• To ensure all food prepared meets Food Hygiene Standards and ensure that safe methods of work are always used
• Manage all stocks and stores ensuring all food is correctly marked and stock rotation systems are in placelia
• To maintain accurate records to satisfy food hygiene requirement such as fridge temperature checks
