Job summary

Amberley Hall Care Home is seeking a Kitchen Assistant to support the Head Chef in delivering a high-quality catering service for residents. You will help with meals, maintain cleanliness, and ensure dietary requirements are met while staff work to provide a warm, welcoming dining experience.

Reporting to the Head Chef, you will contribute to a safe kitchen environment, follow food hygiene practices, and engage with residents to support their comfort and dignity during meals.

Qualifications

• Experience of working within a kitchen environment or catering background.
• NVQ Level 2 in Food Hygiene is desirable.
• Reliable with excellent communication skills and high attention to detail.
• Computer literate and able to use basic Microsoft Office applications.

Responsibilities

• Support the Head Chef to ensure high-quality catering and dining experiences for residents.
• Assist with meal service, ensuring dietary requirements are met and areas are clean and stocked.
• Engage with residents in conversation and activities while respecting their dignity.
• Maintain Health & Safety standards in line with Food Safety and Health & Safety manuals.
