Job summary

University Hospitals Coventry and Warwickshire NHS Trust is seeking a Lung Cancer Clinical Nurse Specialist to support patients from diagnosis through treatment and beyond. You will work with multidisciplinary teams to tailor holistic care and provide expert guidance and emotional support.

You will need substantial oncology or respiratory experience, advanced assessment skills, and a current NMC registration.

Qualifications

Substantial oncology or respiratory experience with focus on lung cancer preferred.
Advanced clinical assessment skills and commitment to high‑quality patient care.
Excellent communication and ability to build trust with patients, families, and the MDT.
Commitment to continuing professional development and pursuing advanced nursing practice.
Current NMC registration is required.

Responsibilities

Assess, diagnose, and manage clinical needs of lung cancer patients.
Provide expert guidance on treatment options, symptom management and side effects.
Deliver compassionate, patient‑centred care and support for families and carers.
Coordinate care as a key liaison between patients and the healthcare team.
Educate and empower patients to make informed treatment decisions.
