Job summary

Heasandford Primary School in Burnley is seeking a Lunchtime Welfare Assistant to supervise pupils during mealtimes and in the playground, and to support their social development. You will work in a team, promote positive behaviour, and help ensure lunchtimes are safe and happy.

Summary Vacancy for Lunchtime Welfare Assistant at Heasandford Primary School

Heasandford Primary School is seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and dedicated Lunchtime Welfare Assistant to assist in the care and general welfare of pupils across the 4-11 age range during our busy lunchtime period. The successful candidate should have experience against the Job Description and possess the qualities and skills outlined below. In return, we can offer happy and well-behaved children, an attractive and well-equipped environment and a highly committed and hardworking school staff.

  • Supervise children during meal times and in the playground/classroom
  • Support children in developing social skills
  • Work in a team situation
  • Manage behaviour positively in accordance with our Behaviour Policy
  • Support the school in making lunchtimes safe and happy for our children

Weekly working hours are Monday to Friday, an hour a day (5 hours in total), term time only. The position is paid at the Foundation Living Wage (£13.45 an hour).
