Job summary

Vision for Education Ltd is recruiting a Lunchtime Support Assistant for Calthorpe Academy in Birmingham. This part-time role runs roughly 1.5 hours daily from 11:45am to 1:15pm, Monday to Friday, in a busy school setting.

You will support pupils during lunchtime, supervise play, and help ensure a safe, inclusive break from learning. Prior experience in care, teaching support or related areas is useful.

Qualifications

• Two professional references
• Enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service

Responsibilities

• Support pupils in the dining hall, classroom or lunchtime areas.
• Supervise pupils during lunch and outdoor play.
• Assist with eating or feeding where required.
• Encourage positive social interaction and inclusive play.
• Help pupils follow routines and expectations.
• Maintain calm and consistent behaviour management.
• Support pupils with communication, sensory, emotional or behavioural needs.
• Escort pupils between spaces safely.
• Assist with personal care or toileting when necessary.
• Respond to incidents per safeguarding procedures.
• Work with teachers and staff to maintain a safe environment.
