Job summary

Dorset Council is seeking a dedicated Midday Supervisory Assistant to join our school team in Salisbury. You will supervise pupils during the midday break, promoting safety, calm behaviour and positive interactions in the dining hall and outdoors as needed.

The role is permanent, term-time only, with hours from 12:00 to 13:45, 8 hours 45 minutes per week. No formal qualifications required as training is provided; commitment to safeguarding and a supportive school ethos is essential.

Responsibilities

• Supervise pupils during the midday break, ensuring safety, welfare and good conduct.
• Assist pupils with meals in the dining hall and with clearing tables.
• Maintain order and promote positive behaviour during lunchtime.
• Assist with clearing tables, wiping surfaces and addressing spillages.
• Supervise outdoor areas when required and report incidents appropriately.
