Job summary

Cobholm Primary Academy, part of the Inspiration Trust, is seeking a midday supervisor for 7.5 hours per week across 38 weeks, fixed term until 31 August 2027. The role involves supervising pupils in the dining hall and outdoor areas, supporting safe and positive lunch-times, and helping with dining room setup and clearance.

The successful candidate will be caring, firm, and communicative, with safeguarding awareness and a flexible, approachable manner. Start December 2026 or January 2027.

Qualifications

• Empathy with children and ability to keep pupils safe and happy.
• Ability to give directions confidently and fairly.
• Good communication with children and adults in a school setting.
• Flexible, approachable and patient in lunch-time supervision.
• Basic health and safety knowledge within a school environment.
• First Aid training or willingness to undertake training offered by the academy.
• Awareness of how to obtain information on allergies or asthma and epipens.

Responsibilities

• Supervise children in dining hall, play areas, and classrooms as directed.
• Maintain a positive dining atmosphere and supervise meal times.
• Encourage healthy eating and assist younger children as needed.
• Assist with dining area duties such as clearing spillages to keep a safe environment.
• Supervise pupil movement to and from the dining room to ensure safety.
• Set up and clear away dining space as required.
