Job summary

Cobholm Primary Academy is seeking a Midday Supervisor to join our friendly lunchtime team on a part-time basis. You will help set up and clear dining areas, supervise pupils in the dining hall and outdoor spaces, and safeguard pupils during lunchtimes.

The role is 7.5 hours per week, 38 weeks with a fixed term until 31 August 2027. Start dates are December 2026 or January 2027. We value caring, firm yet fair approaches and safeguarding mindsets.

Qualifications

• Empathy with children (understanding and supportive care).
• Ability to give directions/confidently to children and adults.
• Clear communication with pupils, staff and parents.
• Flexibility to adapt to varying lunchtime needs.
• Approachability to support pupils in a calm manner.
• Basic health and safety awareness in a school setting.

Responsibilities

• Supervise children in dining and play areas to ensure safety and good behaviour.
• Monitor meals to maintain a positive atmosphere and wellbeing.
• Encourage healthy eating and assist younger children as needed.
• Assist with dining area duties, including clearing spillages for a safe environment.
• Supervise movement of pupils to/from dining room for safety.
• Set up and clear away tables in the dining room.
