Summerhill Academy in Bristol is seeking a dedicated Higher Level Teaching Assistant (Level 3) on a fixed-term contract until 31 August 2027. The role supports teaching and learning by planning, preparing and delivering engaging activities under supervision.

Actual Annual Salary:£15,851 - £17,293 based on hours and weeks worked
Full-Time Equivalent Salary:£33,009 - £36,011 (Grade D) based on full time, all year round
Contract Type:Fixed Term 31 August 2027, Term Time Only plus inset days.
Hours:Part time, 20.75 hours per week, Monday to Wednesday 8.15am - 3.15pm (4.15pm on a Wednesday)
(There is some flexibility if needed for the right candidate, but Wednesday is needed both for cover and to attend staff PD sessions after school)

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Higher Level Teaching Assistant (Level 3) to join the team at Summerhill Academy on a fixed term contract. In this role, you will play a key part in supporting teaching and learning by planning, preparing and delivering high-quality learning activities under the guidance of teaching staff.
You will work collaboratively with teachers and colleagues to support pupils’ academic, social and emotional development, delivering targeted interventions and, where appropriate, covering lessons for small groups or whole classes within an agreed framework. Your contribution will have a direct and measurable impact on pupil progress, engagement and wellbeing.
This role is ideal for an experienced Teaching Assistant ready to take the next step, or an existing HLTA looking to further develop their practice within a supportive and ambitious school environment.
