Knightsfield School in Welwyn Garden City is seeking a lunchtime supervisor to support pupils during lunchbreak, supervise play and meals, and assist with maintaining safety and order as part of a team.

You will promote healthy eating, contribute to safeguarding efforts, and report concerns to senior staff as required. This role supports the school’s safeguarding and equal opportunities commitments.

• Supervision and care of pupils in designated areas during lunchtime
• Distribution and collection of play equipment
• Working as part of a team with other break and lunchtime supervisors
• Supporting the school's positive approach to discipline and safeguarding policies
• Ensuring safe, respectful interactions among pupils and reporting concerns to staff
• Liaising with Form Tutors/Senior Leadership as needed about pupil issues

You would be working as part of a wider team of lunchtime supervisors, and duties will include:

• Supervision and care of pupils in designated areas during lunchtime;
• Distribution and collection of play equipment;
• Working as part of a team with other break and lunchtime supervisors;
• Supporting the school's positive approach to discipline (using the Step-on method, training to be provided);
• Ensuring supportive relationships are being formed with and between pupils, resolving any problems between them;
• Alerting Senior Leadership via walkie-talkie if assistance is required;
• Alerting the school office in the event of a pupil injury;
• Promoting Healthy Eating amongst pupils eating a packed lunch;
• Ensuring the Child Protection and Health & Safety Policies are adhered to at all times;
• Liaising with Form Tutors and/or Senior Leadership as necessary, to ensure they are aware of issues relating to individual pupils;
