Job summary

Nene Education Trust is seeking a lunchtime supervisor to support pupils across the school during the 12–1pm lunch period. You will ensure safety, monitor dining areas and help maintain positive behaviour throughout the school premises.

The role requires supervising children, working with teaching staff and contributing to a calm, respectful lunchtime environment. DBS and Right to Work checks will apply.

Qualifications

• Experience of supervising children in a school or care setting.
• Ability to manage group behaviour and support pupils.
• Willingness to work as part of a team and individually in a lunchtime environment.

Responsibilities

• Provide a safe environment for children and supervise them in designated areas during lunchtime.
• Make decisions to resolve issues that may arise during lunchtime.
• Encourage healthy eating and good table manners while monitoring dining areas.

To actively support pupils in the dining room, playground and throughout the school premises during the lunchtime period. Working times will be 12-1pm 5 days per week

Key Tasks:

• Provide a safe environment for children and take responsibility for supervising and assisting children in designated areas around the school

• To make decisions to resolve problems and issues that may arise during the lunchtime period

• To monitor children in the dining room in order to encourage children to eat healthy, balanced lunches and adopt good eating manners

• Set up and clear away tables and benches/chairs in dining areas

• Encourage the children to treat each other with respect and follow the school's behaviour policies at all times

About You

You will need to:

• Have experience of supervising children as a parent or carer or in a working role

• Have knowledge and understanding of managing the behaviour of groups of children

• Work as part of a group and individually

• Encourage high standards of pupil behaviour at all times
