Job summary

The Reginald Mitchell Primary School is seeking a Lunchtime Supervisor to oversee pupils during lunch in the dining hall and on the playground. You will help foster good manners, safe play, and a calm lunchtime environment while supporting children in and out of classroom areas.

Experience with children and an understanding of safeguarding and wellbeing within a school setting are essential. The role contributes to a dedicated team providing high-quality care and support for learners.

The successful candidate will:

• Supervise pupils in the dining hall, encouraging positive behaviour, manners and a calm atmosphere


• Monitor and support pupils on the playground and in other indoor or outdoor areas during lunchtime


• Encourage positive play, helping children to join in games, resolve minor conflicts and build friendships


• Support the smooth running of lunchtimes by setting up or clearing away equipment as needed


• Model and reinforce the school's behaviour expectations and safeguarding policies at all times


• Have experience working with children in a similar role


• Understand the importance of safeguarding, inclusion and wellbeing in a school setting
