Job summary

Pegasus Primary School is seeking a caring Lunchtime Supervisor to support feeding at lunchtime and supervise the playground, ensuring a safe and positive environment for learners. The role is mainly based in the nursery provision, with potential responsibilities in other areas as needed.

You will help create a safe and happy lunchtime experience, working with colleagues to promote good behaviour and assist with meals for younger pupils. Training will be provided where needed.

  • Friendly, approachable, and patient manner.
  • Works well as part of a team.
  • Reliable, punctual, and committed to learners’ wellbeing.
  • Previous experience is helpful but training will be provided.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise learners in the dining hall, playground and other areas at lunchtime.
  • Encourage positive behaviour and ensure school rules are followed.
  • Support pupils to play safely, resolve minor disputes and develop social skills.
  • Assist younger pupils with eating and clearing away meals.
  • Maintain a clean, safe and welcoming lunchtime environment.

About this Role

We are looking for a caring, reliable, and proactive Lunchtime Supervisor to join our friendly team at Pegasus Primary School to assist with feeding at lunchtime and supervising the playground to ensure a safe environment for all our learners. This role will mainly be based in the nursery provision but you may be asked to support in other areas of the school as needed. You will help to create a safe, positive, and happy environment for pupils during the lunchtime break, both in the dining areas and outside in the playground.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supervising learners in the dining hall, playground, and other areas during lunchtime.
  • Encouraging positive behaviour and ensuring learners follow the school rules.
  • Supporting young people to play safely, resolve minor disputes, and develop social skills.
  • Assisting younger pupils with eating and clearing away meals.
  • Ensuring a clean, safe, and welcoming lunchtime environment.

We are looking for someone who:

  • Has a friendly, approachable, and patient manner.
  • Can work well as part of a team.
  • Is reliable, punctual, and committed to the wellbeing of our learners.
  • Previous experience in a similar role is helpful but not essential - training will be provided.
