Job summary

TeacherActive is recruiting a Lunchtime Supervisor for a SEND primary school in Selly Oak. The role involves monitoring children during lunch breaks, assisting with eating and personal care where required, supervising play, and supporting positive behaviour under the guidance of teachers.

You should have experience with children, ideally in SEND or primary settings, strong communication, vigilance for safety, and the ability to work as part of a school team.

Qualifications

• Experience working with children, ideally within a SEND or primary school setting.
• Experience supporting children with additional needs.
• A positive and caring approach with strong communication skills.
• The ability to maintain vigilance and ensure the safety and welfare of children.
• Confidence managing behaviour and encouraging good manners and positive social interactions.

Responsibilities

• Monitor children during lunch breaks.
• Support with eating and personal care where required.
• Supervise play and maintain positive behaviour.
• Respond to incidents appropriately and support teachers and school staff.
