Job summary

Prospero Teaching is seeking a caring Lunchtime Supervisor to join a primary school in Lewisham for 2 hours daily (11:30am–1:30pm). The role focuses on supporting primary-aged pupils with ASD and SLD during lunchtime, including playground and personal care tasks where required.

The ideal candidate will have SEND experience, a patient and proactive approach, and a commitment to safeguarding. DBS checks are required or willingness to complete them.

Qualifications

• Previous experience working with primary-aged children with SEND.
• Experience supporting children with ASD and SLD.
• Confidence providing personal care support where required.
• Patient, compassionate and proactive approach.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.
• Commitment to safeguarding and promoting children's welfare.
• Enhanced DBS check or willingness to complete the required checks.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and support pupils during lunchtime and playground activities.
• Encourage positive social interaction and inclusive play.
• Support children with ASD and SLD in managing sensory needs and emotional regulation.
• Provide personal care support, including toileting and hygiene, where required.
• Promote pupils' independence, dignity, and wellbeing.
• Help maintain a safe and positive lunchtime environment.
• Follow individual care plans, behaviour support strategies, and safeguarding procedures.

About the Role

We are currently seeking a caring, patient, and enthusiastic SEND Lunchtime Supervisor to join a primary school in Lewisham.

This role involves supporting primary-aged pupils with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and Severe Learning Difficulties (SLD) during the lunchtime period. The successful candidate will help ensure pupils remain safe, happy, and supported throughout lunchtime, including on the playground and during personal care routines where required.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone passionate about supporting children with additional needs in a nurturing and inclusive school environment.
