Job summary

West Gate School is seeking a caring and reliable Lunchtime Supervisor to join our dedicated team. You will support pupils during the lunchtime period, helping with eating and drinking, mobility, personal care and social interaction, while promoting independence and wellbeing.

This 15-hour-per-week role runs for 38 weeks per year, with a DBS check required. Experience with children with special educational needs is an advantage but not essential; full induction and safeguarding training are

We are seeking a caring, reliable and motivated Lunchtime Supervisor to join our friendly and supportive team. This is a rewarding role supporting pupils throughout the lunchtime period, helping to ensure they are safe, comfortable, engaged and able to enjoy a positive lunchtime experience. The role includes supporting pupils with eating and drinking, mobility, personal care and social interaction, whilst promoting independence, dignity and wellbeing. It also involves supervising pupils during play and transition times, supporting positive behaviour, maintaining high standards of hygiene and safeguarding, and working closely with teaching and support staff to provide a consistent and structured environment.

Experience of working with children or young people with special educational needs would be an advantage, although not essential.

We offer a comprehensive induction programme together with ongoing training in areas such as safeguarding, manual handling, feeding support and health and safety. We are committed to supporting staff development and providing opportunities to gain valuable skills and experience within a specialist educational setting.

Hours: 15 hours per week (11:15am to 2:15pm), 38 weeks per year
