Job summary

Catshill First School & Nursery is seeking a Lunchtime Supervisor for term-time only, 6 hours 25 minutes per week (Mon–Fri, 1 hour 25 minutes daily). The role pays £12.85 per hour pro rata and requires a warm, child-focused approach with solid communication and safeguarding commitments.

DBS checks and pre-employment checks are part of the process. The successful candidate will supervise pupils during lunchtimes, assist in the dining hall, support outdoor play, and work with staff to maintain

Qualifications

  • Warm, friendly approach and a passion for working with children.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proactive and able to manage situations calmly and efficiently.
  • Previous experience in school/childcare desirable.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with the smooth operation of the dining hall, encouraging good table manners and promoting healthy eating.
  • Help manage outdoor playtime, ensuring pupils engage in safe and fun activities.
  • Provide a caring and supportive presence for pupils, addressing any conflicts or concerns that arise.
  • Work closely with other staff members to ensure a positive school environment.
  • Clean the dining area and remove rubbish.

We are looking for a friendly and reliable Lunchtime Supervisor to join ourteam at Catshill First School & Nursery.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Supervise and support pupils during lunchtime, ensuring their safety and wellbeing.
  • Assist with the smooth operation of the dining hall, encouraging good table manners and promoting healthy eating.

The Ideal Candidate Will Have:
  • A warm, friendly approach and a passion for working with children.

  • Previous experience in a school or childcare setting (desirable but not essential).
  • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
