Job summary

TLTP Education is seeking a compassionate Midday Supervisor / SEN TA for a primary school in Havering. You will provide 1:1 lunchtime support to pupils with ASD and complex needs, ensuring safety and engagement.

The role involves collaborating with teachers and the SEN team, maintaining calm conduct during lunchtime, and starting immediately on a long-term basis. Immediate start highlighted in the posting.

Qualifications

• Has experience working with children, ideally within a primary school or SEN setting.
• Has experience supporting children with ASD, complex needs or communication difficulties.
• Is patient, caring and approachable.
• Can build positive relationships with pupils.
• Is confident providing 1:1 support.
• Can remain calm and consistent when supporting challenging situations.
• Is reliable and available for an immediate start.
• Works well as part of a wider school team.

Responsibilities

• Provide 1:1 support to pupils during lunchtime.
• Support pupils with ASD, complex needs and speech and language delays.
• Help pupils manage social interactions and communication during lunchtime.
• Support pupils with emotional regulation and positive behaviour.
• Encourage independence and positive relationships with peers.
• Supervise pupils in the dining hall and playground areas.
• Ensure pupils remain safe and supported throughout lunchtime.
• Work closely with teachers and the wider SEN team.
• Follow individual support strategies and school procedures.
