Job summary

Wyvern Academy is seeking a midday supervisory assistant to oversee lunchtimes in the dining hall during term time. The role focuses on keeping pupils safe, settled and treated with dignity, while encouraging good table manners and healthy eating.

Shifts are short and occur on weekdays, with some pupils needing additional support for communication, social interaction or emotions. The role involves setting up and clearing the dining area, helping keep equipment tidy, and working with colleagues

Responsibilities

• Build positive relationships with pupils to make lunchtime safe and supportive.
• Supervise pupils in the dining hall, protecting their safety, wellbeing and dignity.
• Encourage hygiene, polite table manners and healthy eating.
• Support pupils with individual needs so lunchtime goes well for them.
• Set up and clear the dining area, keeping the hall clean and welcoming.
• Clean and tidy equipment such as trays, beakers and cutlery.
• Stay calm and organised during busy moments; work with colleagues to meet needs.
• Bring energy and positivity to lunchtime.
