Job summary

Gateshead Council is hiring a Lunchtime Supervisory Assistant at Falla Park Primary School to supervise and safeguard children during lunch breaks. The post is part-time (7.5 hours per week, term-time only) on a fixed-term basis to support lunchtime provision.

The role requires experience with children, empathy for their social needs, and the ability to lead outdoor activities and work as part of the school team. An enhanced Disclosure is required for successful applicants.

Qualifications

• Experience of working with children.
• Empathy and understanding of the personal and social needs of young children.
• Familiar with games and activities for primary age children and able to lead these outdoors.
• Relate well to children and be able to build positive relationships with them.
• Be able to work effectively as part of the staff team.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and ensure the safety and well-being of children during the daily lunch break.
• Work hours: 11.45am – 1.15pm, Monday to Friday, term time only.
• Enhance Disclosure must be applied for if successful.
