Job description

Are you a caring, reliable and enthusiastic individual who enjoys working with children? Do you have the energy, creativity and organisational skills to help create a positive and engaging environment for children throughout the school day?

We are seeking an exceptional Lunchtime and After School Club Co-ordinator to join our warm and vibrant Prep & Pre-Prep School community. This is a rewarding and varied role, combining lunchtime supervision with responsibility for the organisation, administration and delivery of our After School Club provision for pupils aged 4-11. In addition, there may be opportunities to support the School's holiday club programme during school holiday periods, subject to demand, with additional remuneration available for any holiday club hours worked.

At lunchtime, you will play a key role in ensuring that children enjoy a positive dining experience, encouraging healthy eating habits, good manners and positive behaviour. You will supervise pupils in the dining hall and during playtimes, supporting their wellbeing and helping to create a safe, inclusive and enjoyable environment.

Following the school day, you will take responsibility for the smooth running of our After School Club, co-ordinating bookings and registers, liaising with parents, organising collection arrangements and delivering an exciting programme of activities. You will create opportunities for children to learn, play, socialise and thrive in a fun, nurturing and well-managed setting.

The successful candidate will be highly organised, approachable and dependable, with a genuine passion for working with children. You will be able to build positive relationships with pupils, parents and colleagues, whilst maintaining the highest standards of safeguarding, health and safety and pastoral care.

In return, we offer the opportunity to work within a supportive and welcoming school environment where children are at the heart of everything we do.

Additional holiday club opportunities

The successful candidate may be required to support the delivery of holiday clubs during school holiday periods, subject to pupil demand and the operational needs of the School. Any holiday club hours worked will attract additional remuneration, providing an excellent opportunity to supplement term-time earnings while contributing to a fun and engaging holiday programme for children.

The school is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children. The health, safety and well-being of all our pupils are of paramount importance to all the staff at Kew College Prep. We are committed to providing an environment in which children feel welcomed, safe, valued and respected. Adults in our school know that keeping children safe is everybody’s responsibility and that all children, regardless of age, gender, culture, language, race, ability, sexual identity, religion or lack of religion have equal rights to protection and opportunities. We expect all of our employees to mirror and demonstrate this commitment.

To ensure that we comply with our Safeguarding commitment and responsibility, the school will undertake all necessary vetting checks, pre and post interview, including an enhanced DBS check, internet checks, teaching prohibition checks, references, right to work in the UK and medical fitness.
