Job summary

St Georges CofE (Aided) Primary School is seeking a friendly After School Club Assistant to support the wrap-around care provided before and after the school day. You will supervise children aged 4 to 11, assist in running activities, and help maintain a safe, engaging environment for all attendees.

This part-time role offers 9 hours over 3 days per week during term time (38 weeks). You will work closely with staff, communicate with parents, and contribute to safeguarding and wellbeing

Qualifications

• Experience working with children in a school, childcare, or similar setting is preferred.
• Caring, patient, and positive attitude.

Responsibilities

• Support the smooth day-to-day operation of the wrap around care provision.
• Provide direct supervision and care for children aged 4 to 11.
• Assist in planning, organising, and delivering a variety of enjoyable and age-appropriate activities.
• Promote safety, welfare, and safeguarding of all children at all times.
• Build positive relationships with children, encouraging inclusion, independence and positive behaviour.
• Communicate professionally with parents, carers, and school staff.
• Maintain accurate records in line with school procedures and safeguarding policies.
• Assist with preparation and serving of healthy snacks, ensuring dietary requirements are met.
• Help maintain a welcoming, positive, clean and well-organised environment.
• Support colleagues to ensure the provision operates effectively and meets children’s needs attending.

In this rewarding role, you will support the day-to-day running of our wrap around care provision, helping to create a safe, fun, and engaging environment for children. You will work closely with colleagues to provide high-quality care, supervise children, and support a range of stimulating activities that promote children's wellbeing and development.

This post is for 9 hours, 3 days per week (days can be discussed at interview) term time only (38 weeks).
