Pownall Hall School is seeking a Lunch Time / Dining Room Assistant to support the smooth operation of the lunch service. This is a practical, hands-on role assisting the kitchen and staff to keep the dining area clean, calm, and well organised during lunchtimes.

Hours are 11.00am to 2.30pm, term time only, part-time with potential for additional hours. Immediate start subject to safeguarding checks and reference clearance.

Responsibilities

  • Help prepare and maintain the dining room during lunch service.
  • Ensure tables and chairs are kept clean between sittings.
  • Clean tables and chairs at the end of sittings.
  • Refill water jugs and replenish crockery and cutlery during service.
  • Work cooperatively with kitchen staff and school team.
  • Keep the floor clean and tidy, including brushing and mopping when needed.
  • Wipe surfaces, woodwork and glass windows as required.
  • Follow hygiene practices and school procedures.
  • Complete any relevant training requested by the school.
  • Support other areas of the school if time allows.

Helping school days run smoothly at Pownall Hall School

At Pownall Hall, every part of the school day matters. From the classroom to the dining room, we want our children to feel well cared for, comfortable and ready to enjoy their time at school.

We are looking for a Lunch Time / Dining Room Assistant to join our team, helping with the smooth running of lunch service within school. This is a practical, hands-on role, supporting the kitchen and school staff to ensure the dining room remains clean, calm, safe and well organised throughout lunch time.

The role includes:

  • Helping to prepare and maintain the dining room during lunch service
  • Ensuring tables and chairs are kept clean between sittings
  • Cleaning tables and chairs at the end of all sittings
  • Refilling water jugs and replenishing crockery and cutlery during food service
  • Working cooperatively with the kitchen team and school staff
  • Keeping the floor clean and tidy, including brushing and mopping when needed
  • Wiping surfaces, woodwork and glass windows where required
  • Following all hygiene practices and school procedures
  • Completing any relevant training requested by the school
  • Supporting other areas of school in line with the role, should time allow
