Job summary

Woodlands Academy in Grimsby is seeking a Lunch Assistant to join our supportive team. The role is permanent, 10 hours per week, Monday to Friday during term time, with a salary scale of HLT Scale 1a, point 3 (£24,796) and an actual salary of £5,560.

You will help serve lunches, supervise pupils during breaks, and promote wellbeing and safety while engaging children in suitable activities. Start date is ASAP and closing date is 4 September 2026.

What does a Lunch Assistant do?

In a nutshell:

You will serve lunches and supervise individual and groups of children in dining, playground and circulation areas throughout the lunch break and engage them in appropriate activity and intervene to maintain behaviour, standards and ensure wellbeing, safety and welfare.
