Job summary

Tradewind Recruitment LTD. is seeking an enthusiastic Learning Support Assistant to join a secondary school in Cheshunt, Hertfordshire. You will support pupils and teachers and contribute to an environment that encourages independence and progress.

Tradewind are seeking an enthusiastic and committed Learning Support Assistant to join the team in a Secondary school in Cheshunt, Hertfordshire. The successful SEN Learning Support Assistant will support pupils and Teachers at a leading and well run school who instil a culture of independence within their pupils. The school are looking for staff to start in January 2027 or sooner if available and offer training and a friendly, welcoming working environment.

Responsibilities

• Support the class teacher in planning, delivering and assessing lessons.
• Work with individual pupils with a range of specific needs.
• Use a range of specialist strategies and resources to support children with autism, such as visual aids, social stories and sensory activities.
• Assist in developing children's life skills, communication, social engagement, emotional and behavioural skills.
• Work collaboratively with parents, carers and other professionals to ensure the best outcomes for each child.
• Help to maintain accurate records and progress reports to inform ongoing planning and assessment.

Requirements

• Experience of working with children or young people, knowledge or experience of supporting pupils with special educational needs (particularly autism) is an advantage.
• Ability to adapt your approach and support a range of children with a range SEN and emotional needs.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work collaboratively with parents, carers and other professionals.
• Highly organised with good record-keeping skills.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team and demonstrate a positive, flexible and proactive attitude.
